Colonel Hathi - Disney Character
Appearance and Personality
Colonel Hathi is a comically pompous elephant who styles himself after a British Army officer. He is a major character in the 1967 film The Jungle Book and a supporting character in its 2003 sequel The Jungle Book 2.Hathi is a large, gray elephant with white tusks and a long trunk. He wears a red military uniform with a pith helmet and carries a rifle. He is a strict disciplinarian and takes his military duties very seriously. However, he is also a kind and caring leader who is devoted to his family and friends.
Role in The Jungle Book
In The Jungle Book, Hathi is the leader of the elephant herd. He is responsible for protecting the herd from danger and maintaining order. He is also a close friend of Mowgli, the human boy who was raised by wolves.When Shere Khan, the tiger, threatens the herd, Hathi leads the elephants in a charge against him. He is also instrumental in helping Mowgli defeat Shere Khan and return to the human village.
