Adjusting Brightness on Physical Kindles
Using the Front Light Buttons
For Kindle devices with built-in front lights, you can adjust the brightness using the dedicated buttons:
- To increase brightness, press the + button.
- To decrease brightness, press the - button.
- To maximize or turn off the front light, long-press either the + or - button.
Using the Menu Settings
Alternatively, you can adjust the brightness through the menu settings:
- Tap the gear icon (Settings) from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Under "Display Settings," tap on "Brightness."
- Use the slider to adjust the brightness level.
Adjusting Brightness in the Kindle App
Using the Reading Options
In the Kindle app on iOS and Android devices, you can adjust the brightness while reading:
- Tap the Aa (Text Size) icon in the top-right corner.
- Under "Reading Options," adjust the "Brightness" slider.
Using the Auto Brightness Feature
Both physical Kindles and the Kindle app offer an Auto Brightness feature:
- On physical Kindles, enable Auto Brightness in "Display Settings."
- In the Kindle app, enable Auto Brightness under "Reading Options."
This feature automatically adjusts the brightness based on the ambient light conditions.
